Where To Now - Santee, CA

We visited 5 RV parks South of Santee as far as Imperial Beach (25 miles). We eliminated 1 (KOA -too expensive, too many restrictions and no pull-throughs - means we need a certain spacing to be able to back the rig in).

Of the remaining 4, we liked all of them. But we were too late for choice spots or they cost much more than we wanted to pay. Even though we decided to call this a "vacation" and raise our space rent limit, some were in the $1,200 - $1,500 and up for 3 weeks, with no monthly pricing break.

We had visited 3 parks North of Santee (70 miles) in the Temecula area (county, SKP (Escape Club) and casino RV parks). And, 4 other RV parks (20ish miles) East of Santee (2 associated with a casino and 2 private parks).

Decisions decisions . . . after these 12 adventures across the spectrum of cost, distance and ambience, we selected one of the private parks East of Santee. It was one of the 12, in our price range and the available site looked like it would be fairly easy to back into. So, we will see what we will we see on March 11th when we go there with the rig.

We think in the future, with enough planning and reservations we would try some of the South parks nearer the beach and cooler for Summer stays.
